I’m a guy who makes things happen. Quite simple isn’t it?
What I mean by ‘making things happen’ is well,
If you need to transfer file to a USB, I get it done!
If you need a website, I get it done!
If you need a kubernetes server cluster of 200 pods with
custom helm chart for your gaming server, I get it done!
If I know how to do it, I make it work.
If I don’t know how to do it, I learn how to do it,
and make it work!
Simple. Eh?
So yes. As you might have noticed from the paragraph above,
personally, I am quite specialized in ‘Networking & Servers’
by simple term, Infrastructure Engineer.
I have some experience in ‘Automation Scripting,
Cloud Migration, Service Management, Documentation.’
Leaving technology aside, I am interested in anime and games.
Technically speaking cute or ‘moe(萌え)’ stuff.
Hence, I am Otaku
Been an anime otaku for a long time since 2011 and still keeping the spirit up till this day.
And that led me to being aDigital Artist
I do and love designing “Patches and Logos’ for the games or
myself and my beloved ones to keep their spirit alive.
But I still believe in the famous motto if I may borrow,
“Tech Otaku saves the world” from Hoyoverse.
Oh yes. And I do speak few languages.
I speak Korea, English, Japanese and to reduce confusion,
when I say speak, I do mean ‘fluently’.
Now a days, I am trying to learn Spanish after visiting Mexico.
But spanish is not fluent as ‘yet’
I’ll let you know when I get to speak spanish fluently!
That’s about it. As summary of myself!

“Keeping the Server running,
While improving it’s service design”
The first job I got was as an ‘IT support Engineer’ in Delivery Hero Korea
Where I performed the following Tasks.
After about six months of working,
I went back to studying on Computer Science.
After achieving Bachelor Degree on Computer Science,
I went on and worked as a ‘Infrastructure Engineer’ in Mailplug
Where I performed the following Tasks.
With tasks above, I performed my role for about two and half years.
Tasks were challenging, and sometime failed even after best effort.
But it still was worth to this day.
Those tasks gave me an idea on “How things roll in a big production environment”
“What is needed” and “How to approach and solve the problem”
And more importantly, “How the technology should evolve”
Putting my works from the companies aside, here are some personal works too.
I believe that ‘Engineering is repeats of Problems and Solutions”
And we have to keep the balance between those two.
Keep working on the problem, but don’t get stuck in it.
Be proud of solution, but don’t get cocky or we’ll aim low.
And as we keep the balance but keep moving forward,
we would make more secure, yet more easily manageable infrastructure.
That’s the dream I live with.
So I live with the following motto.

“With 100th Problem,
Make 101st Solution”
“Bringing an idea or the spirit people had in mind to reality”
None so far
Only had some support work for fan community, but nothing as a professional job.
Mostly I designed logos or insignia patches
At first, they were sketched on paper and converted with the support of other people
But now a days, I design them from scratch to the end.

2014 : ‘Espher Operation”
“Sketched on paper.
Designed as a symbol of
keeping up to chase the goal
Since being perfect is all about keeping up to be one.
The symbol in the center
keeps the meaning of
‘In order to achieve the goal,
aim high, fierce fight, knowledge’
Wings are to reach far high
Swords are to strength to fight
Pencil-Arrows are to stack knowledge
Three triangular marks are to
keep moving forward.
And dark-blue color are for
Cool-stated mind.

2017 : “EIA”
“Sketched on paper.
Designed with spirit of
‘helping other people with
collective information’
Having the sword, pencil-arrow
inherited from previous design,
but have hexa-square design
referenced from EMS patch
and low flapping wings
meaning of helping others.
And two snakes for
protection and learning
Finally, two gold ring in the black
for the meaning of
‘Finding a solution, not an answer’ “

2017 : “Plediades”
“Patch Designed for the lost friend
during the journey.
The patch was designed for my best friend ‘Jo-Min-Jun’, who is now dead and became
a overlooking star as Pleiades.
The basic design of sword, wing, and pencil grouped as ‘pencil arrow’ is same as patch design from ‘Espher Operation’. but it was inserted as a meaning of memorial.
And for us to keep a firm spirit
of when we first made the design.
The commander figure was inserted
as believing what the friends were trying to achieve.
And the star on top of the black cirle
was the meaning of the bright star
leading the way in the dark night sky”

2017 : “No Lights Out”
“Patch designed as a motivation for
all the system Engineer around the world.
As our goal is to keep the service up and running, title was names ‘No Lights out’
As we can’t let the service die at any given point.
The lighthouse was motivated, as they keep their lights up in the dark seas for millions of ships, we are here to keep the lights up ‘for’ and ‘of’ millions of servers.
The circular band around the lighthouse
is a Lan(Cat5E)-cable having a color of
Red and Blue, just like the guide lights on the ship. There are seven stars in the sky, meaning of OSI 7 layers, and green up and down arrows in between the title, just like the link lights on cisco switches.
We will continue to keeps the lights on,
just like the power switch design as a whole.”

2023 : “Duruchi”
“Designed as a patch for
motorcycle (super-cub).
Motivated from the spoke of wheel
from the bike. And shape of shark
as a meaning of where ‘Suffocating to death, when you stop moving forward’
Name was made from word shark,
but as in ancient Korean.”

2023 : “Swacco”
“Designed as a patch for
motorcycle (EV-E6 / Wacco).
Since the name sounded like ‘swacco’
from the Touhou project,
it was named so.
The body design is from the motorcycle itself, and the hat with the eyes with
snakes and frog behind was motivated
from the symbol of Swacco character itself.”
Any person, would have a dream in their heart.
It could be something like earning a lot of money, getting a good car
or traveling the South pole, getting a single more ice cream at lunch.
Whatever it could be.
And I would like to make and see those dreams come true.
But dreams are their own path, and their path alone.
I can’t help them reach the goal.
But at least I can help them visualize that goal.
That’s why I design patches and Insignias.

“Sketch, Design, Make
Repeat”
I was born on 1998 / 04 / 23 in Seoul, South Korea.
Growing up in Korea up until about the age of 10,
After then, spent 3 Years in Singapore.
Returned back to Korea at 2010, age 13
Went to middle school and high school in Korea.
After that, took the SAT test in Korea,
and went to Woosuk university in 2017.
Got high grades, but wasn’t learning something.
Decided to bang out of school at the year of 2019.
Where I also had never gone to the Korean Millitary
due to severe skin problem and other issues.
After the dropout and millitary issues,
started studying “Bachelor’s Degree Examination for Self-Education” or ‘Self Bachelor-Degree’ for short.
Got “Computer Science” Degree on August of 2020.
Finishing the Degree, I got a job as ‘Infrastructure Engineer’
in a company who provides Mailing and Messenger Service
for other companies. Had the experience to handle over 200 physical servers, Build images for the service, conduct a OS migration operation, new recruit training, and make a Logging and Monitoring system from scratch.
